I Have 25 Years of Experience Working With and Training Animals
Dogs bring me joy, and were my first connection to the animal world. They are honest, pure, and they make the lives of everyone they touch better.

During my 25 year tenure at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, I was on a first name basis with rhinos, cheetahs, falcons, porcupines, sloths, tigers, and elephants. I was a keeper, a trainer, and was responsible for managing the care and training of hundreds of animals.
​
In 2009, I was certified as a Master Animal Trainer for the successful completion of 10,000+ hours managing exotic animals, practicing operant and classical conditioning techniques, passing written and oral examinations and performing a practical training demonstration of the skills needed to safely and humanely modify the behavior of animals.
​
I started Customized K9 with a couple of goals in mind. Most importantly, I wanted to spend more time with my family, and I wanted to continue working with animals. I've accomplished both, and I get to work with dogs every day!

At CK9, we understand that every dog has individual needs. We provide top notch care and training for ALL dogs, from puppies to seniors, and for dogs with special needs. Our services include behavioral management, daycare, boarding, and customized care packages to handle medicating, bathing, locomotion challenges, and special diets.
Dog owners are an important part of the equation, too. I give owners the tools they need to create a harmonious relationship with their dog.
